Untouched nature and beautiful wildlife

Are you looking to be amazed by the beautiful nature that Tanzania has to offer, as well as the incredible wildlife, then let us take you to Lake Natron, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. This 5-day itinerary is the perfect combination of being off the grid, enjoying the landscape and the untouched nature, and the thrill of spotting wildlife.

Day 1: Arriving to Lake Natron

Lake Natron is the ultimate off-the-beaten-path destination, with its spectacular landscape, home to the Maasai, the view of the active volcano “Ol Doinyo Lengai”, and of course the lake itself, where thousands of flamingoes inhabit the lake. It is about a 6 hour drive from Moshi, so you will arrive there in the afternoon and have the rest of the day to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.

Accommodation options: camping, luxury permanent tent or a “real room”

Day 2: Enjoying lake natron

On this day you will be able to get the full experience of Lake Natron. You can go on a guided walking tour to the lake and see the flamingoes, as Lake Natron is one of the largest pink flamingo breeding grounds in the world. You can also go to a nearby waterfall and a natural pool. Or if you’re feeling very adventurous, you can hike to the top of the volcano, “Ol Doinyo Lengai”, which is an active volcano located south of Lake Natron and is part of the volcanic system of the East African Rift, and it uniquely produces low-temperature carbonatitic lava. Or you can relax and enjoy the pool at the lodge.

Day 3: Now the safari begins

After breakfast, you will continue on with your tour to Serengeti National Park, which is quite a drive. After approximately 4 hours you will reach the gate to Serengeti, and after another 3 or so hours you will get to central Serengeti, but from entering the park, you will, of course, have the chance of seeing wildlife on the way. Otherwise enjoy the peace and beautiful landscape of this part of Serengeti, as not a lot of safari cars come this way. You will reach your camp in the late afternoon to relax.

Accommodation options: camping, budget tented lodge or luxury tented lodge

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

Early in the morning, you will start driving towards the exit of Serengeti. After exiting, you will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will descend into the unique Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, before leaving the national parks behind and drive back to Moshi or Arusha.

Safari in Ngorongoro

This is a carefully curated itinerary based on our personal experience, but it can of course be customized based on your interests and time. It is also possible to add more safari days or combine this with a trip to Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar.
