TERMS OF CONDITIONS

All trips operated by Msafiri Tanzania. will follow the below terms of conditions. We expect that when you book a trip with us, you have carefully read, fully understood, and accepted the following terms.

Payment terms: 

After you, as the client, have confirmed your booking a detailed invoice will be sent to the presented email address. In order to secure the booking, we require a 50% deposit payment of the itinerary cost. The balance of payment is due 65 days prior to the start date of your itinerary. Failure to comply with payment of the due balance in the time frame set above, we reserve the right to cancel the booking with no refund of the deposit. Bookings made within 65 days prior to tour start are subject to full prepayment at the time of confirming the reservation. Please note that payments can be made by bank/wire transfer or by card payment via a direct payment link. 

Cancellation policy: 

In the event that you cancel your booking, cancellation charges will apply as below: 

65+ days before departure/tour start: deposit is non-refundable 

50-65 days before departure/tour start: 50% of the remaining balance. 

0-50 days before departure/tour start: 100% of the itinerary cost. 

The cancellation must be in writing and is effective from the date we receive the written notification.  

In case you wish to cancel your participation in a group for which the final price per person depends on the actual amount of people in the group, the cancellation fees above apply and an extra fee might occur to cover any possible loss of income due to the fact that we’ve confirmed lower price per person to the other participants in the group. 

Amendments by you:

After your booking has been confirmed and you wish to make any changes to your confirmed tour, we will make every effort to accommodate your requests based on availability. However, there will be added an administration fee of 200 USD to make these changes, as well as any potential costs that increase due to the changes. We cannot make alterations to your itinerary within 14 days of your tour start and any such request will be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and will be subject to the cancellation policy, and a new booking must be made.

If you postpone your trip, all payments that have already been made by the client to Msafiri Tanzania will be retained by Msafiri Tanzania until the time of the new tour. The payment balance that is due by the time of receiving information about the postponement will be subject to the new tour dates. The cancellation fees will follow the dates for your old tour dates and from when we received notice of the postponement until we reach a closer date of the new tour dates. Please note that it is not possible to postpone your tour within 14 days of your tour start and any such request will be treated as a cancellation in regards to the cancellation policy and a new booking must be made. 

Cancellation by Msafiri Tanzania: 

We reserve the right to cancel your tour in any circumstance for any reason at any time before full payment has been made. Whilst we endeavor to avoid changes, we must reserve the right to do so. In these circumstances, you have four options: 1) accepting an alternative tour of a comparable standard, 2) accepting an alternative tour of lower value if no tour of equivalent value is available and to recover the difference in the price of the original tour and alternative tour, 3) accepting an alternative tour of higher value if no tour of equivalent value is available and to pay the difference of the original tour and the alternative tour, 4) accept a full refund of what has already been paid for the canceled tour. We obtain the right to cancel your tour if you fail to comply with any requirement of these booking conditions entitling us to cancel. If canceled, we are not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that may have occurred as a result of the canceled booking such as but not limited to visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights. 

Force majeure: 

We cannot accept liability nor pay compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by, or you suffer any damage or loss as a result of force majeure. In these booking conditions, force majeure means any event which we or the supplier in service question could not even with all due care foresee, or avoid. Such events are likely to include but are not limited to war, the threat of war, riot, civil disorder, actual or threat of terrorist activity, natural disaster, fire, break out of an epidemic or pandemic disease, and all events outside our control. In circumstances related to force majeure, we will not refund any money paid to you or pay compensation. 

Amendments by Msafiri Tanzania: 

It is unlikely that we will make any changes to your tour although we reserve the right to do so. By booking with us, you acknowledge your understanding that the route, schedule, timing, etc. may be subject to change without prior notice due to certain circumstances and events, which may include but are not limited to mechanical breakdowns, extreme weather, etc. When changes are likely to occur we will advise you of these in writing at the earliest possible date. 

Insurance: 

Please be aware that we do not provide travel insurance, and it is required that you purchase travel insurance before departure. Therefore the sole responsibility lies with you, the client, to ensure that you carry the correct and comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover yourself, as well as any dependents for the duration of your trip to Tanzania. 

Passport and Visa: 

It is upon the client to ensure that they have a valid passport and that the passport has a validity of at least 6 months after the final day of travel. We recommend having at least 2 empty pages in your passport upon arrival. Also, it is upon the client to ensure that they obtain a valid tourist visa to enter Tanzania. It can either be obtained online prior to departure, or most nationalities can get a tourist visa on arrival to Tanzania (50 USD per person/ 100 USD per person for US Citizens). The tourist visa is valid for 3 months from arrival. Please check with your embassy for further information. 

Check names and documentation: 

Please check the names on the invoice and itinerary carefully when documents are received, as these are the names used to make bookings and it is your responsibility that they are your correct legal names. Carefully read all documents provided to you as soon as you receive them to make sure that all information is correct. Contact us immediately if any information appears to be incorrect. 

Medical conditions and disabilities: 

If you or any member of your party have any medical problem or disability which may affect your tour, please inform us before you confirm your booking so that we can advise on the suitability of the chosen arrangements. If we feel unable to properly accommodate the particular needs of the person concerned, we must reserve the right to decline the booking, or if the details are not provided to us by the time of booking, we reserve the right to cancel by the terms of our cancellation policy, when we become aware of these details. 

Changes in surcharges:

The price of your itinerary will be based on known costs at the date of issue of the itinerary. If there happen to be changes in surcharges, such as an increase in park fees, reserve fees, or concession fees or increases in transportation costs such as fuel, embarkation, or disembarkation fees at ports or airports, then we will advise you straight away when we become aware of these changes. At any time before full payment of your tour has been made we reserve the right to levy a surcharge where costs have been changed since the date of issue of your itinerary. Should the surcharge exceed 10% of the total tour price, you are entitled to cancel your tour and receive the full deposit made. 

Our responsibilities: 

We accept responsibility for ensuring your tour is supplied as described prior to your tour start and services provided will reach a reasonable local standard.  Please note we cannot accept responsibility or liability for any services which do not form part of our contract. This includes for example any additional services or facilities, which your hotel or other supplier agrees to provide for you, where we have not taken part or agreed to arrange them. 

Liability: 

We are not responsible for any damages, expenses, losses, which are related to the fault of any client, or to a third party unconnected to the tour, or a force majeure event. We are not liable for occurrences such as but not limited to loss or theft of personal items of the client when participating on the tour. We strongly advise you to not leave your personal belongings unattended at any time and remind you that you are responsible for your own belongings at all times.

In the event that any loss, death, injury, or illness is caused by the negligence of Msafiri Tanzania, or of a third-part supplier which takes part in the contract, Msafiri Tanzania, limits its liability, where applicable by all applicable International Conventions. 

Problems: 

If you have any problems during your tour, please inform us immediately and we will endeavor to put things right. If you have had a problem during your tour, and you wish to file a complaint after, please send us an email with the problem in full detail within 28 days of the end of your tour. If you fail to follow this procedure, we can not accept liability as we have been deprived of the opportunity to investigate and rectify the problem. 

Images and marketing: 

By accepting these terms of conditions, you accept that participating in a tour operated by Msafiri Tanzania, photos and videos can be taken by Msafiri Tanzania, as well as third-party suppliers and used on our website, social media, and for other marketing purposes, without any further obligation to you.
